Greetings,

In the 400 years between the Old and New Testament periods, Israel lived without a prophet, a vision, or a Word from God. There was only silence from heaven when they prayed. As God explained to the Prophet Malachi, their attitude was responsible for a closed heaven.

Malachi 1:13 (NKJV) – “You also say, 'OH, WHAT A WEARINESS!' And you sneer at it," Says the LORD of hosts. "And you bring the stolen, the lame, and the sick; Thus you bring an offering! Should I accept this from your hand?" Says the LORD.”

God’s people had begun to feel that going to church was a drudgery and a “weariness.” Instead of offering Him their best sacrificial animals, they were even bringing God their sick and lame livestock as offerings. Sometimes we need to check the level of our spiritual passion.

A good question to ask ourselves is, how do we feel about going to God’s House to worship Him? Do we look forward to being in church, or is it a nuisance to get dressed on Sunday morning and drive a few miles to where other believers are gathered? Are our hearts filled with joy at the thought of going to the House of the Lord each week?

Another question: is our worship the best we can offer or do we hold back? God deserves our best.

Father, today I want to worship You with all my heart! My soul longs to enter into Your Presence with other believers and to fervently worship You in spirit and in truth!

Today, I’m worshiping with Clint Brown and “I Have a Friend.”

Greetings,

Preaching is intended to help us better understand the life giving principles that are found in the Word of God. It was never meant to be entertaining. The nation of Israel was carried away into captivity because they began to think that the Word of God was for their amusement, rather than allowing it to change their lives.

Ezekiel 33:32 (NKJV) – “Indeed you are to them as a very lovely song of one who has a pleasant voice and can play well on an instrument; for they hear your words, but they do not do them.”

We should value the teaching of God’s Word much more than watching a favorite sports team, movie or the daily news. After all, the purpose of scripture is to help us grow closer to God.

If we could see the human spirit as our Heavenly Father does, I wonder what we would see. Would our souls be shriveled and malnourished, while our outward appearance is healthy and strong?

Thank You, Lord, for allowing us to hear the preaching of God’s Living Word, week after week. Many people in our world do not have that privilege. They have never even heard Your Name.

Today, I’m worshiping with Valley Creek Worship and “There Is Always More.”

We love you and are praying for you. Be INSPIRED!

Greetings,

At times, the problems we face living in this fallen world can cause great distress of heart and mind. Our thoughts become troubled and we often have to deal with anxiety. So did the psalmist. Look:

Psalm 94:19 (NKJV) – “In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul.”

With all the stress that can be created by health, family, and financial issues, the enemy whispers that we’ll never overcome the problems that beset us. He takes advantage of every trying situation that we encounter by painting a picture of gloom and impending disaster.

A simple problem becomes a concern that turns into worry. Worry produces stress, and that gets ratcheted up to fear, followed by depression. But it doesn’t need to be that way! Instead, pray and trust God. Put everything into His capable hands. He will answer. When He does, anxiety will be transformed into joy, peace, and comfort!

Father, I thank You for the answers that I’ve found in You. Thank You for the wonderful peace that fills my heart when I need it the most. You hold my future in Your caring hands. Help me to live a life of surrender and not of worry. You are so good!

Today, I’m worshiping with Andrew Holt and “Seated on High.”

Greetings,

Do you know just how much you mean to God? This is what the Prophet Zechariah said:

Zechariah 2:8 (NKJV) – “For thus says the LORD of hosts: "He sent Me after glory, to the nations which plunder you; for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye.”

For God to call you “the apple of His eye,” means that He feels great joy every time He looks at you! He loves and cherishes you that much! You are dear to God, even if you don’t know it.

Father, I’m overwhelmed at the amazing love You have for each one of us.  For You to love us so much is beyond my comprehension. Please help me to accept and receive Your love! I want to love You the way You love me.

Today I’m worshiping with the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir and “It Will Be Worth It All.”

We love you and are praying for you. Be INSPIRED!
