Greetings,

I’m sure that at times, we have all felt that God must be a million miles away. We aren’t the first. David shared those feelings:

Psalm 10:1 (NKJV) – “Why do You stand afar off, O LORD? Why do You hide in times of trouble?”

When David needed God the most, it seemed that He was nowhere to be found. It’s one thing to be unable to sense God’s Presence when things are going well, but when we are in a time of great distress, it’s even worse!

However, we shouldn’t always trust our feelings. God often tests us to see if we’re doing things our own way, or trusting in the promises of His Word that that declare He will NEVER leave or forsake us!

I praise You, my Father, for always being there when I need You. I am so thankful for Your faithfulness! Not once have you ever walked away from me or left me on my own. Thank You!

Today, I’m worshiping with Belonging and Co. and “Seated on High.”

Greetings,

Jesus suffered unimaginable pain and humiliation for us.

John 19:1-3 (NKJV) – “So then Pilate took Jesus and scourged Him. [2] And the soldiers twisted a crown of thorns and put it on His head, and they put on Him a purple robe. [3] Then they said, "Hail, King of the Jews!" And they struck Him with their hands.”

Isaiah tells us why Christ endured so much humiliation and suffering.

Isaiah 53:4-5 (NKJV) – “Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. [5] But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”

He did it for us! We were the ones who were flawed and sinful, yet He endured the terrible judgment that should have come upon us. Oh, what a Savior!

Thank You, Lord, for taking my place and dying for me that I could live for You! You have won my heart. How could I ever not love You?

Today, I’m worshiping with Hannah Waters and “Christ Is Risen.”

Greetings,

Did you know there is a hiding place from the attacks, slander and lies of the enemy? It’s a place where all of his strategies will fail and his schemes cannot succeed. That hiding place is Presence of God.

Psalm 31:19-20 (NKJV) - “Oh, how great is Your goodness, Which You have laid up for those who fear You, Which You have prepared for those who trust in You In the presence of the sons of men! [20] YOU SHALL HIDE THEM IN THE SECRET PLACE OF YOUR PRESENCE From the plots of man; You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion From the strife of tongues.”

Psalm 91, also speaks of this place of safety. It was written by Moses and he writes of hiding in the Presence of our Holy God. Israel was protected from Pharaoh because of that Presence. Satan cannot harm us when we’re living in the shadow of our Holy Creator. While in His Presence, we are safe, just as Israel was from the heat and cold of the wilderness and any disease or enemy that would seek to harm them.

Draw me close to You, Lord. Keep me in Your Presence. For there I am safe, blessed, and secure. It is where I desire to be. I want to abide continually where You are.

Greetings,

Typically, sunlight diminishes in the evening time. Yet scripture gives us this promise:

Zechariah 14:7 (NKJV) – “It shall be one day Which is known to the LORD-- Neither day nor night. But at evening time it shall happen That it will be light.”

What does that mean? In scripture, “light” refers to the revelation of God’s Word. Centuries before the invention of the printing press, the average believer did not have a Bible to read. Now we all have a Bible on the mantle or nightstand, or we have one on our iPad, computer, or mobile phone.

But what is even better than just having a Bible, is to experience God breathing the revelation of His Word into our spirit as we read His Holy Word daily. That’s why reading your Bible is one of the most rewarding things you can do!

Thank You, Lord, for Your AMAZING Word! It is like the air I breathe. Help me to live according to the principles that are written in its pages. Speak to my heart through the Scripture.

Today, I’m worshiping with Todd Galberth and “Lord, I Love You.”
