Greetings,

We must never forget that Jesus is the healer of every sickness and disease!

Matthew 8:16-17 (NKJV) – “When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, [17] that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: "He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses."

If God had only provided salvation for mankind, that would have been more than we deserved. But, the atonement also included healing for our sicknesses and diseases. Isn’t that amazing?

Whether we receive healing through prayer, or it comes through the treatment of a physician or medication, I am so grateful that God cares about our pain and suffering. If you are ill today, I’m glad that we can call upon the Name of Jesus and receive the healing that He purchased with the stripes that were placed upon His back.

Dear Lord, I thank You for the lashes that You received upon Your precious back for my healing. The price for me to be healed is paid. I receive healing now. I love You and thank You for caring so much for me. You created me, and if You can create the marvels of the human body, You can heal me as well. Thank You for healing!

Greetings,

The human ego can be so deceptive. What we do for God and others must be based upon His greatness—not to exalt or bring honor to ourselves. Notice what John the Baptist said:

Luke 3:15-16 (NKJV) – “Now as the people were in expectation, and all reasoned in their hearts about John, whether he was the Christ or not, [16] John answered, saying to all, "I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”

When a person has low self-esteem or a wounded spirit, they may unconsciously seek the praise of men, or do good because they need the approval of others. We might do the rights things, not because we love God but rather because we enjoy receiving the praise of men. Our good deeds should be to glorify God. Motive matters. Ego can be deceptive.

John the Baptist did amazing things but he didn’t fall for the trap of doing them to feel better about himself or earn acceptance. Right up front, he stated that another was coming who was mightier and more worthy than he was. John was secure enough in God’s love that he didn’t struggle with ego. He could decrease while Jesus increased. Wow!

Father God, You alone deserve honor and glory. We pray for the humility to serve You acceptably and to always feel secure in the identity that You have given us. Free us from being people pleasers to become God pleasers instead.

Greetings,

A stunning declaration made by Jesus has defied the current trend of thought about multi-culturalism:

John 14:6 (NKJV) – “Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

Christianity teaches that we must love everyone, and that all men are created equal. That belief is true. However, it does not posit that every belief system is equal. It cannot, because that isn’t true.

Unfortunately, a current belief being heavily promoted states that whatever a person believes is unimportant and that all roads lead to salvation.

Simple logic contradicts the truth of that statement. After all, two plus two will always be four, even if someone else believes the answer is five. Similarly, different spiritual belief systems can never be in agreement, since some teach the very opposite of that taught by others.

Jesus said that no one could approach the Father except through Him. That’s why He instructed us to go throughout the world teaching the Gospel. Our salvation depends upon knowing THE Truth. This is the reason we need to learn the Word of God.

Lord, I’m grateful beyond words that You revealed to me the Truth of who You are. I could be lost, confused and not know the Way. I am overwhelmed with gratitude that You allowed me to hear Your message of salvation and then say yes to Your call.

Today, I’m worshiping with Eddie James and “To Jesus.”

GREETINGS AND MERRY CHRISTMAS!

This world of ours has witnessed many incredible things. Today we celebrate its very greatest mystery: God became man! Two thousand years ago, our Creator God became Emmanuel, God with us. On this day we mark the moment that God became incarnate as a baby born in a manger, and begin His trek toward the Cross.

Like 2:10-12 (NKJV) Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. [11] For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. [12] And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger."

We needed a Savior for we could not redeem ourselves. God loved us so much that He sent His Son, the Holy Lamb of God, to pay the price for our forgiveness. Such love is amazing, overwhelming, astonishing and yet real. Why Christ would love us so much that He would come into our sin blighted and broken world to live among us, be betrayed, then suffer and die for us is beyond our understanding. Now that’s LOVE!

So how should we respond to such a gift? Thankfully, reverentially and thoughtfully are good ways to begin. Thankfully because we would have been lost had He not come and taken our place; reverentially, for a God so Holy that all of heaven praises Him deserves our deepest worship; and thoughtfully because we should not take what Christ did for us lightly or for granted.

Dear Jesus, thank You! I worship You, and today I focus my thoughts and attention upon You. I was not worthy, yet You came to redeem me anyway. The greatest gift anyone could ever possibly receive, not just today but any day, is the gift of salvation that You brought to us. How could I ever take it lightly?
